    Nigeria’s leading financial sector development organization organized a media forum to discuss the role of media in driving Financial Inclusion. On this panel, Ms. Baldé was invited as an expert speaker to discuss the importance of media in driving financial inclusion in Nigeria with panelists including Nimi Akinkugbe, Aisha Isa- Olatinwo Head Banking & Payments CBN;  Adia Sowho; Managing director Mines, Ugo Dre Okechukwu; founder Nairametric amongst others.

    Nigeria is a country that cannot be overlooked because of its demographic and economic potentials.Spotlight Nigeria is a conference that happens in Paris every year to enhance relations between France and Nigeria.     Chris Ogunbanjo Foundation: Financial Inclusion and the Next Generation

    In September 2018,the Chris Ogunbanjo Foundation supported by NEXUS Nigeria co-hosted an event to discuss the importance of financial inclusion and the benefits of adopting it as individuals and an organization. Ms. Balde was invited as an expert speaker alongside Mrs.Modupe Ladipo, Managing Partner of Prospera Consulting and a financial inclusion expert and Mr. Iheanyi Ononiwu and Mrs. Uche Ben-Uzoebo, heads of financial inclusion of Diamond bank.

    24th annual Nigerian Economic Summit Abuja Nigeria

    The NESG has been in the vanguard of Nigeria’s campaign to create an enabling environment conducive to good governance, responsible private investment and sustainable economic growth. It has championed the adoption of ethical business practices and continues to encourage ongoing dialogue between public and private
    sector leaders.

    In July of 2018, the Central Bank of Nigeria website reported that Nigeria was not on track to meet the 2020 targets set out in the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) of 2012. The impediments to achieving this target have been ascribed to economic constraints, insecurity issues in the northern part of Nigeria, obsolete strategies, among others.

    As a financial inclusion advocate and radio anchor, Ms. Balde organized, planned and curated a one of a kind financial inclusion session with 120 key stakeholders present from around Nigeria and beyond at the 24th annual Nigerian Economic Summit. The keynote speaker was his excellency former Central Bank of Nigeria deputy Governor Dr. Obadiah Mailafia.

    On this panel, Ms. Baldé moderated a conversation on ‘Redefining/Rethinking the Societal Role(s) of the Girl Child & Young Women as Transcending Basic Home Management and a  Permanent Subordinate role’. Ms. Baldé interviewed and moderated conversation with panelists such as Mrs. Charlotte Osei (First Female Chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission of Ghana) and Mrs. Ibukun Awosika (First Female Chairperson of First Bank of Nigeria Ltd), while Chief (Mrs.) Folake Solanke (First Female Senior Advocate of Nigeria).
